Japan Goes 0-5 in U20 World Championships, Demoted
Fukufuji stopped 40 shots in Royals 6-2 win vs. Long Beach
2006.1.1- The 3rd Asia League season opened with something familar, a Kokudo win. That said there are many new faces, a couple of new teams and much to look forward to in this season. The Summer started roughly when Golden Amur, the Russian team quit the league due to financial troubles. However, the Korean team Kangwon Land and a special team in China called the Nordic Vikings joined the league. The Vikings, made up mostly of players from Nordic countries, beat Harbin 5-1 in their first game. Kangwon made a go of it but lost to Anyang Halla Winia 5-3. More news to come soon.
9.24.05-This section will be updated soon. Until then, check out my past columns on hockey in Japan.
